Standard: Nail files that are manufactured using top quality "standard" grade sandpaper are washable and disinfectable. They can be immersed in (or saturated with) 70-90% isopropyl or ethyl alcohol for 5 minutes.

Premium: Nail files that are manufactured using the finest "premium" grade abrasive paper are also washable and disinfectable as the Standard files. However, the premium abrasive paper may be immersed in an EPA-Registered disinfectant for 10 minutes. This abrasive type is sourced from around the world to produce the highest quality and longest lasting nail file.

Note: Zebra "standard" files are non-washable and non-immersable! Zebra "premium" files are washable and immersable for up to 10 minutes.

Mylar: Instead of the abrasive (grit) being glued to a paper substrate backing, as is normally the case when making sand paper, the grit is glued to a strong industrial polyester film. Nail files that are manufactured using mylar film are washable, disinfectable and can be immersed in (or saturated with) 70-90% isopropyl or ethyl alcohol or an EPA-Registered disinfectant for more than 1 hour.

Sponge Board: Instead of the abrasive (grit) being glued to any kind of substrate backing, the grit is glued directly to the thicker 3/8” (0.375”) foam. Nail files that are manufactured using Sponge Board foam are washable, disinfectable and can be immersed in (or saturated with) 70-90% isopropyl or ethyl alcohol or an EPA-Registered disinfectant for more than 1 hour.
